Unlock Education Hosts Unconference on Global Educational Challenges
On April 23, we hosted an inspiring unconference titled “The Contribution of Social Entrepreneurship in Addressing Global Educational Challenges” at the Learning Planet Institute in Paris. The event brought together leading voices from across the education and social innovation ecosystem, including François Taddei (France), Koen Timmers (Belgium), Vanessa Duchatelle (France), and Mine Ekinci (Türkiye), alongside Anna Cristina D’Addio, Chief of Education Policy at UNESCO’s Global Education Monitoring Report.
Expertly moderated by Elsa da Costa, Director of Ashoka France, the discussion opened with key global challenges highlighted in the latest GEM Report, with a strong emphasis on youth agency and the need to position young people as co-leaders in shaping education systems and policies. Building on this, Ashoka social entrepreneurs shared how social innovation is driving systemic solutions to address these challenges, helping to rethink education as a driver of social cohesion.
